I just couldn't resist... just got me a new Kahr MK9 Elite 2003 with night sights - a jewel, a work of art... haven't shot it yet. If it proves reliable, after the break-in period (200 Rds), this will be my pocket/carry gun. I first was thinking about getting the MK40, but at my age, with not too much meat on my hands, I decided I would not like the recoil of the 40. It comes with a 6rd and 7rd mags, but I think I will trade the 7rd for another 6rd mag... if I find some one willing to trade.

Any one else here into Kahrs?

I have an MK9 Elite 98. It is my preferred carry gun. Recoil is quite managable. Bought it used and it has functioned flawlessly. My wife has a Kahr E9 and she loves it. It was my inspiration to purchase the MK9.

Welcome to the Kahr Klub, oldfella.

Yeah, another Kahr fan here. I contemplated trading my MK9 Elite 98 in to buy an HK P7M8, but I couldn't part with the Kahr.

Kahr's pocket holster works well for me, as do the Pearce mag extensions. I don't use my 7 rounder much, either. If you do find a trading partner or two, let me know, eh?

;)

It seems all MK9 owners prefer the 6Rd Mag with the Pearce extension. If I don't find any one to trade, I might just buy me a new mag, and couple of Pearce pinky extension; I'm also thinking about replacing the guide rod with a stainless steel one, but I understand that one might have to do some mikey-mousing to make it fit, and I'm not good at that. Regards,

The Oldfella

Had a MK9 that I loved. I had put night sights on it before I traded it. :(
I still miss it. It was an awesome gun.
Very controllable, shootable, and accurate for such a small gun.

I traded it on a PM9, which is much easier to carry for me.
I bought another 6rd mag. That is one of my main gripes against Kahr.
$39 for a 6rd mag!!!

You might as well call and place the order now.

If I do Buy another 6Rd Mag, and looks like I'll have to, I'm going to talk to Kahr people to be sure I get one without the sharp edges... I understand that some are sharp enough to slice your fingers. They did a real good job on the ones which came with my Elite 2003... and maybe I can trade with Kahr, I hadn't thought of that - it may work.

I've been thinking about picking one of these Elite 2003's up for a few months now. I'll be interested in hearing how it performs. I did not know they have plastic guide rods. Is this a new thing or have they always done that? (I've never taken one apart before).

I am new to the Kahr family - I haven't yet taken mine apart either, but I'm seriously thinking about getting a stainless steel guide rod.
