Well I recently picked up a Kimber Pro Carry II for $700 and am using hydro shocks once I get it broken in. I don't have a holster yet, what would be a good one? Anyone know anything about the gun or hydroshocks? Also what is a good way to get it broken in before I take it shooting this weekend?

Thanks!

What was that? 300 or 500 rounds (I'd have to get my manual that came with mine). That's the only way to break it in...

Holster? I have a "broke in" Kimber UCC II and I carry concealed with a Yaqui Slide. Very comfortable...

I HAD one with a ton of problems

mine had the external extractor.

dennis in kimber cust svc/custom shop was not very helpful.

sold it.

Mine was 100% out of the box (so I couldn't tell where the break in began and ended). I carry my Tactical Ultra II in a Comp-Tac MTAC IWB, very comfortable. If this weekend is the first time for the gun to be shot, I would field strip, clean it, and lube it prior to shooting it (just follow the manuel recommendations). Have fun, stay safe.

I have 5 Kimbers and the only one that had to go back was the Pro Carry II. Since recieveing it back it has run flawlessly. ejector tune, new spring, polished feed ramp.

Love my Pro Carry II!

I've got the model with lasergrips. Runs great, had problems at first, but once I added oil it hasn't had a hiccup.

Now I know it's been right many years since I have had a reading class but the title has nothing in it about a holster. In the OP he did mention "once he get it broken in", then later asks about getting it broken in before taking it shooting. By old school learning it sounds like he was referring to breaking in the gun. :D

To answer the post I have a Pro Carry SLE. For break-in I tore it down then cleaned and lubed everything. I ran 200 rounds of 230 gr FMJ thru it. It hiccupped a few times on the first few mags then ran fine the rest of the way. I came home tore it down, cleaned, and lubed it again. On the next range trip I ran another 200 rounds thru it and it ate everyone just fine with no hiccups. Can't help you with the Hydroshocks as I use Starfires. For a holster I have an IWB from Backwoods Leather that has a high tab to keep the hammer away from you.

I knew it...You ARE a bright boy...And such a young one to boot.:D

Brett30030 is the one that seems to have the reading problem and I knew you could help him out...

I too have a pro carry and like it very much. One way to help the " break in " process is to cycle the slide by hand a couple hundred times [ not letting the slide slam forward ] to help the parts mate together. Saves on ammo as well. Don't have any info on hydra shocks, but crossbreed makes an excellent IWB holster.

A tip....remove the recoil spring, use plenty of oil, and the cycling will be much easier.
