Here's what I know...the range is scheduled to open on Saturday, October 18th, 2003.
But here's the clincher, per TWRA General Rules, 1660-1-27-.03,
the use of FMJ ammunition is prohibited.
In case you haven't seen the range, it is called
'The Stones River Hunter Education Center' and it is located off of Hobson Pike on the right just before you cross the bridge over Priest Lake going toward Mt. Juliet.
There are residential developments in close proximity to the range which
is why the use of FMJ is probably prohibited.
Of course, this rule may have changed as it was last in effect on
August. 14, 2000.
Do not expect this range to be like the Cheatham county range. Safety
will be paramount and Range Officers will be present at all times.
Usage fees are as follows:
Adult (16 years of age and older) - $4.00 per 2 hours.
Youth (15 years of age or less) - $1.00 per 2 hours.
Adult Annual Fee (16 years of age and older) - $100.00.
Youth Annual Fee (15 years of age or less) - $25.00.
(Youths under 16 years of age must be supervised by an adult at all times.)
