The only Bearcat revolver I've seen is an old model - thirty-some-odd years ago. I was not favorably impressed.

Is new model Super Bearcat a more precise machine?
1. What standard of accuracy should be expected from the revolver?

2. Is its grip frame sufficient to maintain a firm grip during use?

3. Please identify gunsmiths who offer installation of an adjustable rear (and front??) sight?

4. How transparently, how difficult is it, to align chambers with ejector rod, poor alignment causing wear on chambers' dimensions and deteriorating accuracy?

1. The new model has a steel grip frame, is heavier, and should hang a little steadier then the old aluminum one.
I don't follow your "more precise" comment. They have always been built to high Ruger quality standards, which I believe were higher 30 years ago then they are now.

2. They have small grips. That is what they are designed for. If they had man-size grips like a Single-Six, they would be a Single-Six, not a tiny little kit-gun plinker.

3. Can't help you there. But I'm sure any of the better revolver smiths could do it. Would not be cheap though.

4. Aligning the chambers with the ejector rod is always going to be harder on a .22 then on a .45. There is no getting around it.
I have never heard of a polished ejector rod harming a steel cylinder, or the accuracy of any SA. Even after a hundred years of use.

Re question #3: Why would anyone want to take one of those little handy Bearcats and put large adjustable sights on them? Why not go one step further and have it drilled and tapped for a scope. My suggestion wouldbe to trade yours in for a short barreled super single six(with adjustable sights) and save yourself some serious $$$$.

The Bearcat can be found in Aluminum, steel or stainless. I don't get the "more precise machine" comment. Everyone I have shot has been a great little revolver. Ruger has made the Bearcat since 1958, added the transfer bar in 1974. It's a small frame single action with fixed sights. The chambers align perfectly with the ejector rod with the gate open If you want a SA .22 with adjustable sights buy a Single Six
