If you poke around on the Winchester site a bit, there is a download page about a couple of new shotgun loads that look kind of interesting. Another site mentions that they will be available next spring.

One is a 12 gauge, an updated buck and ball load with a 1 oz. rifled slug and three 00 buckshot. Not too many details, but it says

12 Gauge S12PDX1 Bonded PDX1™

* Slug/Buck combo
* 12 gauge 2-3/4" 1 oz rifled slug with three pellets 00 Buck-Buffered
* Targeting Ranger Slug Velocity @ 1200fps
* Reduced Recoil
* 10 round box

The other is a load for the Taurus Judge. Looks like it might be pretty effective, though penetration might not be too great.

410 Gauge S410PDX1 Bonded PDX1™

* .410 2-1/2" three 000 buck defense disks with 12 BBs
* Reduced Recoil
* 10 round box

Not as bad as Remington's "home defense" round, but I'd still rather stick with 12 pellets of 00 buckshot.

I bet they are being optimistic with the 1200 fps. Still it should be enough to make my (Zombie's) head explode.

ROFLMAO! :p

The BnB load looks interesting. I've been toying with Centurion's similar HD load. Hard to argue with old reliable 00 or 000 buck, though.

Lately I am loading all my scatterguns with five rounds of 3" 000 buck with three more in the saddle along side three Federal 3" slugs. I take killing intruders very very seriously. Screw over penetration. :p

the judge load is um... interesting?!?!

how well will disks work vs ordinary 000 balls?

am i wrong to think that these may tumble more like the old stack of dimes lore from billy the kid?

dont get me wrong ill try anything once so who knows maybe they will be something innovative i mean the judge loads they put out this year did get my judge to pattern better

Uh oh....all black ammunition?

ARMOR PIERCING COP KILLER BULLETS!!!!

THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!!

I too would be interested in seeing what those 'copper mentos" do in gelatin...

and from this day forth shall the winchester supreme elite taurus judge 410 load be known as the "copper mentos"

let us celerate this occasion with the adding of chocolate to milk
