Thanks to all for installing the AR bug in me. This was an impulse buy 2 weeks ago. I will be shooting it tomorrow for the first time....been very busy with life in general at the moment.

Additions to come:
- Larue Mount and High Power Scope (Mueller?)
- New Trigger
- Another AR in a Varmint type set up
- .308 cal AR-10

p.s. Had to include the HKs in one pic

Sorry, I should have used the same thread I started a few weeks ago.

Its a BM XM-15 E2A3 with a 1:9 chrome lined 16" barrel. The trigger sucks and I will be replacing it but not sure with what....any ideas???

Everything on it is standard expect for the Harris bipod I threw on it. My plan is to sight the iron sights in and add the extras I mentioned to it. Then when I get my DPMS or BM varmint style AR I will move the optics and bipod to that gun and have this one as the grab and go gun.

Paid $899

The rest of the guns (left to right): HK USPc .40 cal, USPf 9mm and a HK P2000SK 9mm variant III.

Bushy Trigger Woes, huh?

I really like the Jewel unit I installed in my DMPS lower that I have my Grendel upper on. They can be a little intimidating to install, but with a little patience you will be ok. For a “drop in” unit the Timeny unit is supposed to be fantastic. Just push out the trigger pins, drop in the self contained trigger pack, replace the pins, and then just safety test it an you are good to go.

She's all broke in. I took the BM target and manual with me to the range. I had her dialed in within 20 minutes. I only shot it out to 25 meters but that is what the target suggested and also the indoor range's limitations.

What a sweet rifle...it's more accurate than I for sure. I can't wait to shoot it at some longer ranges.

If it is strictly a range-toy, then get whatever is the lightest trigger you can afford. IF you plan on it being useful for an emergency, I highly recommend the RRA 2-stage. It is a great trigger, at a great price and is robust. If you are 100% concerned about reliability, the stock trigger is best - if you can live with it.

If you get a varmint type AR, you might want that LaRue + scope and bipod to go on that. It would be of greater value on a rifle built for accuracy (heavier stainless barrel, free floated preferably).

Enjoy that rifle, but for a 16" barrel service-style AR like that, I'd consider some sort of shorter range combat optic like an Aimpoint, EOtech or better yet - ACOG down the road. I have an Aimpoint and an ACOG. I love them both, but give the edge to the ACOG. For me, there's not much more fun than shooting a 16" AR while sighting through an ACOG looking at that brightly lit chevron. It just makes it so pathetically easy. It is almost like a video game. Almost makes me giggle like a little girl the way I can tag the targets with total ease, speed and accuracy. I should have got one much earlier.

BTW, there's nothing wrong with adding other firearms to gun photos. I've got an HK USP in 9mm and love it. :)

Very nice, its cool to see someone else with a heavy barrel carbine. And you got it for a fair price too. Congrats.

And yes, they're capable of shooting much more accurately than I ever can.

:D I believe I'm next. Just trying to sort out best manufacturer and price. BTW this is my first post on The High Road...It's good to be here.

Suggestions for your rifle:

JP single stage trigger. Not super cheap, but probably one of the nicest AR triggers out there.

Free float that sucker, and put the bipod on the free float. Will increase your accuracy a fair amount.
