Just wondering what people have actually bought and paid for in the last three weeks since the election and if you thought you paid too much, or if you felt you got a fair (or really good) deal. Personally, I've picked up a bunch of spare mags (100 G3's and 24 Blackdog .22's), and a slightly used M4, 1911, and a PTR91. FWIW, I got good deals all the way around and never paid more than what would have been a fair price weeks or months prior to the election. I'm still looking for a few things, but so far I'm not paying the 'panic premium'.

Sure, we've all seen how some sellers are trying to take advantage of the post-election panic buying opportunity, but are people really buying at uber-inflated prices? Whats been your experience?

The "panic premium" I think is being applied to very specific things. AK's, AR's, SKS - along those lines.

I think we've all seen a few places trying to run up some other more common items - but that seems to be a little more sporadic.

As for "are people really buying at Uber-Inflated prices" - I can only say - go try to buy an AR right now.

I bought powder and primers today - no panic premium there that I can tell of. In general, ammo prices seem to be lower now than at mid-summer. I am not sure, because I don't buy much. I think prices were lower in my most recent Natchez Shooters Supply supplement.

I bought a Saiga 7.62x39 at my local gunshop for $435 two weeks ago. My first AK! I think that I did all right with this purchase, considering that most saigas online are in the $390 range, but once tax and FFL fees are figured in, the prices are pretty close. *I did not buy it out of fear of Obama.

I sold a Romy G at a recent gunshow for $600. I'd refinished the stocks pretty nicely, and included 3 magazines and a Chinese canvas/leather sling.
Considering we did the deal in front of a table full of $600+tax WASR's, I was happy, and don't feel that I gouged anyone.
But I realize, a couple months from now we could quite possibly see much higher prices, in which case, it'll be ME what feels like a doofus !!!
