I just got an e-mail from Havlin sales. I had previously asked about a 1" mount for my Mossy 44. They said they were actually working on one and would send me an e-mail when they were in production. I don't work for them or anything, but have had good service in the past. Here is the e-mail ----

Mossberg side mount and screws – ONLY $22.50

For models 26B, 26C, 42A, 42B, 42C, 42M (all variants), 43, 44US (all variants), 46A, 46B and 46M (all variants) and most Wards-Westernfield rifles side-tapped on 1-5/8†centers (made by Mossberg). Mount conforms to curvature of receiver and features Weaver style top platform.



Will center any diameter scope directly over the barrel – no longer limits you to ¾†tubes. Quality mount allows you to keep the iron sights in place. Add rings and scope of your choice. Old Mossbergs

I'm a big fan of Havlins, they keep my old Mossbergs( Models 42 MB, 46 B, 44 US and 152 )in great condition with a supply of parts hard to find anyplace else.

I checked out the web site and they don't have that scope mount on the web page yet . But I'll be very interested in getting one for my 46 B.

And don't be fooled if you call and Cheryl (Havlin) answers the phone, as she's about as knowledgeable about Mossbergs as is Vic, and a lot cuter!!! (no offense Vic!!)

Cheryl sent me another e-mail and mentioned that the mount is low and you do have to remove your bolt shroud if it is still mounted to the bolt. Only one of my Mossbergs still has the bolt shroud cover, not really sure that they serve much purpose anyway. I'm anxious to get a nice scope on my 44. They should be on the website soon, or just call them.
