I'm fairly new to BP and have a few basic questions. I picked up an inline .58 muzzleloader a few weeks back and want to take it to the range. How many grains should I be using with a patch and ball? How many for a maxi ball? Are there any companies that make sabots for .58 cal?

...seems to me I saw conicals and/or sabots over at Cabelas website.also check out Dixie Gunworks.Lee makes both a RB and a conical minie ball mold for .58,for around twenty bucks a mold.

Start at about 60 2f or 55 3f and work up in five grain jumps till you get the best accuracy.

What's the twist rate? If it's modern it's probably fast and geared for conicals and sabots rather than PRB. In other words designed to make you spend more $$$
