Well I just could not help myself. The $$$ was right and this one is a winner. It is a 1990 MKII 1/2". It does not have the rib on the top of the slide but it does have a forged frame. No lines in the mag well. Nice Ring hammer and updated milled sights. I should be able to drop in Trijicons without having to mill the slide. The gun has a nice blue on it. I believe it has been refinished. The blue is consistent even though my poor pics do not show it. It is not up to par with the blue on my 1972 but it looks great.
First thing I did was pull the lanyard loop. Then out came the magazine disconnect. This lightened up the trigger a bit. I need to get a 26 lbs Wolff mainspring which will put it right were I want it. I took the old crappy plastic grips and chucked them. I temporary replaced them with some older french walnut grips which I had lying around. I will be putting Naviderix or Spegels on this one.
Here is how she looks. Pretty much as I took her out of the box.
You can clearly see the Star of David on the frame.
Here is a quick shot of the rollmark. It is a FN Herstal gun with a PW import mark. The mark is very light and if I choose to refinish it I will have it removed.
Here is a nice shot of the ring hammer.
