Hi to Everyone,

I'm new to THR but not to forums. Mostly I hang out at 1911.org. I saw a couple other members that frequent both. I found that there is a section for rifles so here I go:

Bought an H&R M12 at the CMP, without sights. I have looked at what Brownells has to offer, looked on Ebay, Champions Choice and in turn have basically managed to confuse myself.

The last time I shot a rifle like this was in High School, JROTC. Well, that was over 25 years ago.

I know it would be very easy to spend more than I paid for the rifle to obtain front and rear sights. I'd like to get a solution for $150 or less. I have seen a scope adapter (BLK) but it looks like you need two pieces to make it work. The gun has both mounts for iron sights and scope mounts, though the scope mounts are pretty far apart so I imagine there is a specific type for that application. I've never owned a weapon that has a scope. I have probably used a scope maybe twice in my life.

I'd like to move in a direction that will give me the best results, however I am more of an iron sights type.

Has anyone else gone through the process of installing a scope or sights on an M12? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe

Welcome to THR, Hueycrew!

Since this is your first 'scoped rifle, you might want to have a knowledgeable person take a look at it and give you some personal advice. You might even want to take it in to your local gun store for them to make suggestions.
