A friend doing spring cleaning gave me an interesting toy he'd gotten some time ago. It's a Jeike Air Sport Gun, a spring air, or "airsoft" replica of a tricked out 1911 w/square trigger guard. The orange on the muzzle end is obviously sprayed on - I liked the fake muzzle,( complete with rifling), and buried about an inch back is the real muzzle. I made a target box for the 6mm plastic pellets from an old 30 pack beer box, a target printed online, and went to work.
Well, it shoots about 4 to 5 inches above POA, no matter what distance, and has plenty of oomph to break paper at 7 yards, (approx, the distance between the bed and the bathtub, where I perched the "target box"), but is somewhat inaccurate....OK, 8 inch group at 7 yards doesn't impress anyone.
I do have to say, it is kinda neat, featuring 1911 style mag release for the surprisingle heavy removable magazine, holding 14 plastic pellets.
Now I guess I have to file on the sights to get it to POA....
Anyone else have one of the Chinese made toys?

Before you file that sight, experiment with different weight pellets. You might find the accuracy improves, too.

Ive got a small collection of em, they are fun to mess around with on occasion, espicilly the pump action ones, as if you hold down the trigger it can watse the 4o rnd mag quickly.

Just keep fooling around with it. When I first got mine I could barely hit the paper from my couch to the back door, now I can put about 3 in groups. For about 15 dollars they are alot of fun. ENJOY :banghead: (the smiley means nothing it is just neat)

i have a few of these , and hae doen a little research with full on players- the spring guns are just not accurate. its really annoying trying to counter the off angle of the shots, but still fun to be able to throw off a few mags anytime i want, in my apt.

the gas guns are apparently MCH more accurate, i have read some reviews that say some spring guns are more accurate.

i do have to say the person telling me all sprigng guns bite runs a store where they sell uppity equipt, so they may have been trying to just sell me on the more $$ gun, not sure.

The gas pistols are more fun than spring cocking ones. The slide will blow back with every shot chambering the next BB, just like real autoloaders. The only airsoft gun I wish I had kept was the gas powered Western Arms Strayer Voigt Infinity 3.9"

It looks just like a $3000 custom 1911. :D

I sold all my airsoft stuff 'cause real firearms are a much better investment.

I read some Japanese dude won a bunch of IPSC competitions here in the states with only airsoft practice at home with gas pistols. Sounds far fetched, but I read it in the NRA American Rifleman magazine. Maybe it's true
