I had an older Rossi 92 SS with a 16" spout a few years back. Had some fun with it for a while (sore shoulder and ears too!) but ended up selling it as it was rather inaccurate.

The problem I had was that factory .44mag ammo is .429 inch diameter, yet the groove diameter in this rifle's barrel was oversized to .433!
This resulted in 8" groups at 100yrds as I dont handload.

I have heard Marlins and Winchesters have also had problems with oversize .44mag bores and that this is largely due to SAAMI being a bit dimwitted in their specifications for rifles being chambered for the .44 Remington Magnum.

Now.
Here we are in 2014 and I was wondering if this is still a problem with the newer Rossi/Taurus .44mags??? Or any other firearm manufactures for that matter???

And yes, my beady little eyes have been looking at those 20" SS Rossi's once again in the hopes that those .44's might shoot straighter that before.
After all, my .22 marlin can do atleast 2" groups at 100yrds, why not a .44?
