NIB 5.5" Redhawk .357 found

1)Thanks for the compliment! And Yes, I am grinning from ear to ear-since this .357 Redhawk was especially hard for me to find(Took many years)!:banghead:
2)Well, my intent was not to make anyone jealous-but, I understand the feeling-because, I have seen so many guns posted on the various gun forums that I could only dream about owning! But, we all get lucky once in awhile-and, for any guns I most likely could never own, I'm thankful to be able to view pictures of these "Dream" guns on those gun forums.

Call me stupid/uninformed/narrow-minded (whatever), but why? I really like Ruger revolvers and own several, including a 4" GP100 (.357) and a 5.5" Redhawk (.44 Mag). Love 'em both. But I don't see the attraction of a .357 Redhawk. You're carrying a whole lot of extra weight for a .357 cartridge projector. What am I missing here? Maybe it takes a collector's mindset?
Beautiful gun, by the way. My only point is that it wouldn't turn my head ... unless I could buy it for a song and flip it for a hefty profit! If I did that, I might be able to afford sending my Redhawk to Bowen for an Alpine conversion.

Uh ... still curious. And surprised nobody took me up on the invitation to call me "stupid!"
Why would I be attracted to this gun? A few reasons really:
1) It's a curiosity. Very rare.
2) Way overly strong platform for that cartridge. I have a thing for overbuilt guns. This might be a little too much of a good thing, but I still love the idea of a gun that cannot be killed by mere mortals.
4) A gun that could be loaded with the hottest loads known to mankind and take them even better than a GP100 (which is one hell of a trick!!!)
5) Recoil reduction. Even the absolute heaviest loads would be fairly tame.

Very cool, especially in the box. Congrats! I had a chance to buy one - not NIB. I passed and, apart from the chance that I could have made some good money (was offered to me at $225), I couldn't persuade myself that I was going to do anything with it. The .357M RH always amazed me - the cylinder is beyond overkill!
