A couple of weeks ago I came in here looking for some advice about a first rifle for me. Well I actually haven't buy one yet but my wife just got me one as a present. I know is only a 22 LR but hey she gave it to me, I'm happy :D

Ruger 10/22 10 shots mag, 25 shots mag and the case, SWEET!!!! I just want it to let you guys know about my first rifle (that I own) So if anybody needs me I'll be at the range. Here is a picture

Nice situation!!

Highfive--Congrats on having a sensible wife, and on having received a very nice present.
I know is only a 22 LR
But that is what everybody should have, for practice. Sight picture, breathe, squeeeeze the trigger. Enjoy your shooting!

You can always buy more/larger caliber rifles. But nothing beats a .22 for practice--cheap ammo, low recoil, just plain fun. No need to apologize to anyone ever for having and using one.

And BTW, the 10/22 is a very nice platform for tricking-out should you want to--all sorts of retro stuff you can buy to hang on one!

I don't see any downside at all to this! :)

Even sweeter smokey joe. I just love it right now and i haven't shoot it yet. I can't wait to get to the range. (i'm waiting for her lol) So while I'm waiting I'm here browsing and hoping she will hurry :D Have fun everybody because so am I

I have an AR with a CZ .22lr upper on it. I shoot it more than all of my AR's combined. It is a blast to practice with and it doesn't get my dog all riled up from the loud banging (she hates gunfire).

Like mentioned above, there are several benefits to having the rifle you got. I beleive NO gun collection should be without at least one .22lr in it.

Hi5.
Don't forget to treat the wife to something REAL nice so that acquiring your next rifle will, go smoothly too. Congrats!

Curious, where is decent .22 ammo for $5-6 for 550? I just bought federal at wallys for just under 10.

^^^ I was wondering that too. Because I got my ammo at wally world for $9.88 for 550 rounds. By the way it was awesome to shoot. I just came back from the range, I loved it and so did my wife. I just hope I won't lose the rifle now, lol  And that rifle looks awesome. Maybe later I'll be doing something of course when I learn more about it. have fun

Good choice

Congrats. Your wife has excellent taste in firearms. :) The first firearm that I ever bought with my own money was a 10/22 when I was about 15. I can't count the number of rounds I put through it hunting rabbits, squirrels, and yes...... the ubiquitous pop can! It's still in my gun cabinet today and with any luck I will pass it on to my grandkids.

Where I can get some nice parts or accessories for my Ruger 10/22 specially the (bolt puller/charger) sorry I don't know the name. you know that thing you pull to move the bolt. I saw you can get something so you can do the pulling (LOL) a lot easier. Thanks

nice lookin gun, and the alphabet blanket in the corner is a nice touch. as far as the accessories go you can order catalogs and find stuff on the internet. 22s are some of the funnest guns to shoot. have fun.
