Anyone use nickel plated cases in a Garand? Are they better or worse than regularly finished (brass) cases for loading a Garand?

I understand they are harder. Does this create any sizing problems? Do they last longer?

You can load nickel plated brass the same as unplated brass for your Garand. I've fired both in my Garands and there is no difference in performance.

Hope this helps.

The nickel cartridges are harder, and are not as malleable as regular brass cartridges. They do not do as well with the rapid expansion and then slight contraction when fired in a chamber, and then resizing on a reloading bench. They do not last as long. I think they look neat for a display or something, but that's it. I wouldn't mind loading up eight dummy (no primer or powder) nickel cartridges with some M2 AP (black tip) bullets and loading them in an en bloc clip for a neat M1 Garand display item.
