no guns signs in richmond va

As some of you may know I have been fighting with the city parks dept to get them to either paint or remove a sign at the 22nd entrance to belle isle. The sign is illegal. Since 87 the general Assembly is the only body that can pass gun control in the commonwealth of VA. The City of Richmond however feels that it can leave this sign up. I have been working on this since last summer. But Most recently for the past month. I know money is tight with the " new economic realities" but a pair of bolt cutters and a little bit of paint, or a screwdriver would fix the problem. But after a month they have not.
Why???

If you notice that was a month ago and as of yesterday Sat the 28th it was still there.. Look at the picture.



What can you do to help??? Well Email Miss MItchum. [email protected] Call her at 804-646-0199. She is on vacation this week but you could also call the # for immediate help. Call Ralph White ( who is the real problem) at 804-646-8911. On the message you can find the Mr White's cell.



Please forward this to anyone who might help.. If they got 10 calls or 30 calls and emails that would make them change their mind.. This is our government breaking the law... Are you gonna stand for it??

30 days is long enough and duct tape does not solve the problem.... please call or write her today...
 
Okay, but there's no hurry because the pedestrian bridge is closed.

This is from the southside the only way to get on the island at the moment.... Why worry vdcl when you can do it yourself?
 
Yeah it's dogtown after all... I did talk to Phillp last fall on this issue and to be honest was a little disappointed that he took the duct tape as fixing the problem.... So I am trying to make it happen. Paint the sign or remove it. Please call or email the city today... the more the merrier... It is funny the only to get on the island right now is to hop rocks both bridges are out..
