Midsouth Shooters Supply is running a special through 3 Sept. No hazmat on powders or primers with $250 minimum. Use the code"freehaz".

I stocked up on large pistol primers. The prices are pretty good, less than $26 / 1000 for cci.

not working for me

does it have to be $250 worth of powder and/or primers or can non-hazmat items go towards the $250 minimum?

From the email I received it must be $250 worth powder and/or primer:

Offer valid Friday, August 31, 2012 8am CST until Monday, September 3, 2012 at midnight CST.
No Hazardous Material fee on orders of $250 or more worth of powder and/or primers.
MUST ENTER PROMO CODE: FREEHAZ
Your order can have non-hazardous items in it, but it must have at least $250 worth of powder and/or primers.
In stock items only. Savings cannot be applied to back orders.
Savings cannot be applied to previous orders.

I set out to order 5K of CCI SP and 5K of CCI LP. When I got to the end of the order, the SP were on backorder.

I tried ordering 2, 8 pound bottles and 1, 4 pound bottle of powder. I put in the free hazmat code. When the total came up on the checkout page, the sub total for the powder was incorrect and the HAZMAT fee was added in TWICE. I sent e-mail but haven't heard back yet. Obviously I didn't complete the order.:banghead:

Prices on CCI primers aren't too bad, about $5 per k more than Tula at PV. However, I didn't find a listing for Accurate Arms powders. Tried several times, with Midsouth's search engine, to no avail.

Gentlemen,

What you need to do is price the items you wish to buy from Powder Valley. Include the costs of shipping and the hazmat fee. Then price the same things from Midsouth Shooters Supply with their "free" hazmat and see what the price difference is.

Is there a Jedi shipping trick?

It was odd the way they totaled everything when I made my order. I think they charged the haz fee but subtracted $25 from the product total. The math worked out in the end.

I did, with Midsouth the product price is little less for cci primers, shipping comparable and no hazmat fee.

Using Midway's AR15 promo code, you can pretty much get this all the time... formula for the promo code is

AR15 + Month Number + Amount off (basically 10%)
AR15910
for $10 off $50-99
or AR15915 $15 off 100-199
etc

Interesting fact I just found out: those coupon codes work for powders, but DO NOT work for dealer accounts. That's particularly sad as they don't discount powder :S.
