No head stamp?

Good evening,

this is a new one for me, sorting through some range brass i came across a 223/556 (i think its a 556 because of the crimped primer pocket) case with no head stamps or markings… what is this all about?

Negative ghost rider I have a couple and no 223 is going to.remove all trace on firing and have no other pressure marks

I've seen ones not marked, who knows why. I do have a 223 very clearly marked 222 rem.

look again..there are shadows of the headstamp....

I agree its probably a max load with the ejector circle but higher I would expect a bur.

I've seen what has been called "sanitized" 762x39. Was a national arsenal ammo for foreign contract. I would guess it's a 556 venue of same type.

Come to think if it, I had a stash of unmarked 556 brass. Was circa 80's stuff from An Asin country. Norinco, perhaps?. They did have a line of boxer brass. Some of it was marked, some was not. They all had a similar 3 point crimp. Was good brass, believe it or not. Mabey it was ROC? IDK.
