lol, I don't think so, but Norinco made a copy of it. I can't afford a Walter, but I do have the Norinco copy and it is hands down the most accurate 22 I have shot. I own 2 Ruger MKs and a browning buckmark and I much prefer the Norinco

Norinco TT Olympia. The Walther was the gun that won the Gold medal for germany in the 1936 olympics (hence the name)

I really just started this thread to show/say how much I appreciate the Nomad. I see nothing wrong with praising worthy .22's here.

The Nomad and Woodsman are both on my bucket list. I have not had the joy of shooting either, but they are two guns that I would love to add to my collection
When my dad died in '81, he left two Woodsmans; one Match Target and one plain Target. My brother got the Match Target, even though he never really cared much about shooting.
I gave my still-pristine Woodsman to my youngest son a few weeks ago. I picked up a new Mark III 22/45 with threaded barrel. Have since bought a Mark III 22/45 Target. The Woodsman's value is probably over twice what I paid for both Rugers. The Rugers are better pistols, however.

Woodsman for sure - no doubt about that at all.... wait, I don't have a Challenger, but I do desperately want a Belgium one with both barrels.. Take your pick, both are actually great guns.
I'd take either over my Ruger MKII any day.

My wife inherited a Colt Huntsman. I'm am thrilled when I get the chance to shoot it
My FiL bought it, used, in the early 70's for ~$250. I'd have to say I'm glad he did; I know there are better .22 pistols out there but it remains the finest I've ever had the pleasure to shoot.
So consider this my vote for the Colt

On Feb 23, a little over a month ago, I was at the Puyallup gun show and watched an old gentleman pay ~ $1k for a Woodsman. I stopped and asked him why it was worth so much. He said it was because it came with 3 magazines.
I did not understand that completely, but I have bought 6 Woodsman and one pre woodsman since. I have not shot any of them yet. Another old gentleman who lives near me says he can teach me how to shoot 22 target. He gave me some Woodsman grips and says he is done with Woodsmen. He is into other stuff. Three days ago he said to me, "Did you hear that Chiappa will be handling the FAS 602 and 604? If priced well, the 602 could be a strong contender against the Pardini SP22, the Benelli MP95e and MP90s. The FAS 604 would be a superb air pistol for you to use for fun practice at home. Its weight and mass resembles a .22lr pistol."
But teaching me to be a good shot with a handgun may be hopeless.
He says if I reduce my goals, go for the buckmark.

If they were early two-tone magazines, he paid the going rate for the gun and 3 two-tone magazines.

While the Colt was always much more expensive than the Ruger target pistols (which I love) I'd like to get my hands on a Woodsman someday.

I really wouldn't mind a Browning Medalist one of these days but were I only able to have one, I'd choose my old Nomad.

Ok, I have to post a pic too. I have owned 4 Woodsman's and currently have two. I have never paid more than $450 for one and I even know of one locally for $450, so deals can be had if you don't insist on perfection. Of course, both the Ruger SR22p and Mark III target I just bought were less than that.
