I'm just about to purchase a G35 conversion barrel in 9mm. It is made by Norecoil and called the Fire dragon. I talked with a salesman at the last gun show here in Vegas and asked about reliability. He told me if it wasn't 100% reliable it was useless and I agreed with him.
I did a little research about the Fire dragon and read some things about their C.S. that wasn't favorable and also that reliability wasn't that good.
I'm just curious if anyone out there has any experience with these conversion barrels and what your feelings are....
Also what other company would you recommend based on your experience.
Thank you for your help....

Mike

No one with any experience with EFK Fire Dragon barrels??

Or any other barrel conversions you have tried and are satisfied with..... or not satisfied with... any info will be greatly appreciated... going to the gun show on Sun.

Thanks again for your input...

Mike

I have a match grade EFK Fire Dragon for my Glock G30. I had to hand fit it to the gun but I have done tool & die work for a good part of my life and it was no problem with a selection of stones. It is much tighter than the OEM Glock and if you reload you need to make sure your ammo is crimped and sized well. I have had no issues with mine excpet when I don't have my reloads crimped correctly.

I bought 1 and it broke at the locking, sent back 2nd same thing,1 had a big bugger just at the crown.Save and get a storm lake.

Thanks shootingxd and jackpinesavages for the info. I'm going to wait a while and maybe go the Storm Lake route. I have read some good reports about them.

I'm almost thinking it would be better to maybe just get a another gun and get it in the caliber I want to shoot. I'm not wanting a barrel so I can shoot reloads so the stock Glock barrel will be ok for what I shoot.

Thanks again,
Mike

The EFK barrels are not designed to basically shoot reloads. They are National Match barrels designed for more accuracy than original issue barrels. I had the wrong expectations when I first purchased mine- to shoot reloads with lead bullets. When you reload you have to pay close attention on sizing to get them to feed reliably. But the accuracy on mine put the OEM Glock barrel to shame. Because the tolerances on the Glock barrel are much looser it will feed just about anything through it.

EFK barrels are guaranteed for life but I have never had to use their CS dept for anything. There are other good manufacturers of barrels as listed above.
