They perform like a nice soft point in my 250.

It’s a custom sporterized Mexican Mauser. It’s a 1:10 twist.

A classic!
Mine is a Stevens 200/ Savage 10 with a Midway barrel. Also a 10 twist. I have read that some 250s have 12 and even 14 twist barrels, and that they don't do well with the 100gr and up Spitzer bullets.

The original was a 1:14. Lot of savage 99s. The 250 Savage reruns, like the “classic” 700 from awhile back was as well.
The 87 gr pill out of the slow twist was the 3000 fps recipe that gave it its name.
