While I am not a Benelli fan I am becoming a convert slowly. I have had to repair 4 Benelli shotguns in the past couple of years while on duck outings. I recently had the opportunity to pick up a Nova pump at a price to good to pass. I have been using it in the field for quail and duck and it has performed excellent. I still prefer my autos to the pump for waterfowl but I really want to put this Nova through its paces.
I have also taken on a new hunting buddy that has an M2 field that seems to be holding up OK. He has not fired many 3" mag loads in the past so hopefully this year will be the test for it.

While my 20 GA Benelli Montefeltro is not a duck gun... it has shot a boat load of sporting clays and doves! I never had any problems what so ever with it. Maybe I got one of the better ones, but it is a simple gun with few parts. The only failure to feed was from an Activ all plastic hull which had a good sized burr on the plastic rim... not the gun fault at all. My gun is an older one, quality may have fallen off since it was made.

I'm not a bird hunter, but I'd be surprised if the M2 doesn't hold up. My M1S90 sees nothing but a steady diet of 00 buck and slugs and is still going strong after 10 years and thousands of rounds.

Nova is a great gun. Tomorrow is MD duck opener, and Ill be toting the wifes Nova while my SBE2 is in the locker. I havent had a hiccup that was the guns fault yet. They are all great guns.

I'm an 870 fan when it comes to pumps. But strongly suspect the Nova may well prove to be the best pump ever. It just needs more time to prove its self.

I'm also quite pleased with my older Benelli M-1's. So far they have been as reliable as any pump. Just don't have to pump 'em and they are lighter.

What did you have to do with your benellis while duck hunting? With my darth vader black sbe I've shot ducks/geese, used mine for a paddle, and walking stick to pry myself or others from mud, and even as a decoy retriever from Mississippi to Marlyand and it has always went boom when the trigger is pulled.
