Hello folks, I am Linda Walker. I am on the ballot for the NRA's board of directors. Voting members should have rec'd their ballots sometime in the past week in their March magazine.

I will paste a letter I have circulating and then my extensive 2A bio. Feel free to ask questions. But I will put this out there, which may clear up many of those questions about my stance on Second Amendment issues first: I believe our forefathers drafted incrediable documents called the Constitution and the Bill of Rights quite brilliantly! To deviate in any fashion from what they meant them to be is a crime against our citizens. What part of "shall NOT be infringed" do they not understand? Any gun control, up to and including magazine restrictions and restrictions upon citizens to own machine guns and accessories goes against what our forefathers drafted and is a crime against our citizens!

I humbly request your vote! Thanks,
Linda Walker

To My Fellow Second Amendment Brothers & Sisters,

My name is LINDA WALKER and I need your vote for the NRA Board of Directors.

As an ardent Second Amendment supporter, I am saddened by the erosion of our US Constitutional Rights over the years. The recent events in Tucson, as well as the Virginia Tech shootings, Colorado church murders, Columbine massacre, and other horrific events, have taught Americans nothing.

For too long, anti-gun advocates have played on the fears and ignorance of a gullible public to erase liberty and self-reliance from our national dialog. But I absolutely refuse to let them win this debate.

For many years now, I have called the Ohio Statehouse my second home as I have personally worked with legislators to protect and advance gun rights. While I have sought no personal gain for my efforts, the NRA honored me in 2009 with the “Sybil Ludington Women’s Freedom Award,” the highest honor given to one woman each year for Second Amendment legislation, advocacy, and education.

I serve as the Central Ohio Chair of Buckeye Firearms Association, Ohio’s foremost Second Amendment Rights organization. I have been present and testified in our Statehouse for nearly every hearing and vote over the past several years. I have directly assisted in the passage of legislation establishing Castle Doctrine in Ohio, statewide preemption of local gun bans, and historic reformations of concealed carry laws .

As a proud NRA certified instructor, I have taught well over a thousand students in safe, responsible gun handling and concealed carry. I also serve as Chairman of our county Friends of the NRA, work as an NRA Election Volunteer Coordinator for the Ohio 12th Congressional District, participate in local politics, and support the Ohio Gun Collectors Association.

If you help me get elected to the NRA Board of Directors, I vow that I will fight the encroachment of the BATF on the lawful use of firearms, stop foolish registration schemes, encourage youth and women to participate in hunting and shooting sports, and do everything in my power to prevent the erosion our God-given rights.

I am neither a celebrity nor a wealthy politician. I am a simple American who has dedicated her life to restoring the hopes and dreams of the Founding Fathers. I have fought in the trenches of legislation, educated citizens in basic self-defense, and tried my best to uphold the values of our Constitution.

I have done all this for my family, for my state, for my country, and for you.

If you are a voting member of the NRA, I humbly ask for your faith in me. And I ask for your vote. When you receive the Board of Directors ballot in your NRA publication scheduled for late February or early March, please vote for LINDA WALKER.

Thank you and God bless you and our great nation.

Voted for you already. In fact, I voted for all the women and minority nominees (those that I could identify) because the NRA needs diversity of representation.

Jelly Jar, someone else asked me this today, and I will post my comment to them:

For purely selfish reasons, I will be casting one vote this year. Don't feel obligated to vote for 25 because that's what they told you that you can vote for. My suggestion, only vote for those who you feel will most closely represent you.... Voting for all 25 just to vote for 25 dilutes the voting process. Last year, I cast only 2 votes..., Ken Hanson (legislative chair for Buckeye Firearms and the one person in Ohio who has done more for gun rights than anyone), and Ted Nugent. My beliefs for the 2A really parallel Ted's.

With that said.., I have a couple prerequisites I expect out of my board member.
1)Show up to the dog gone board meetings!!! I think if you are on the board, you should be required to participate!!! Not just by lending your famous face to posters and advertising!
2)I expect my bd member to be involved in the legislative process. How many have never stepped a foot in their own Statehouses?
3)I expect the bd member to know the true meaning behind the Second Amendment..., and it isn't hunting!
4)I expect my bd member to not support any form of gun control. Saying stupid stuff like supporting bans on magazines that hold more than 5 rnds should be terms for immediate termination from the bd. Yet, he still got re-elected last yr! :banghead:
5) Again, I expect my bd member to share the work load and obligations of being on the board equally!

I could go on forever, but I will stop. My suggestion is Google those on the list. I guess if you can't find out anything about them (and yes you won't find ANYTHING on a couple of them, I tried), they probably haven't been involved in the Second Amendment much. If they are celebrities, what will they bring to the table besides lending their face to advertising?

I have a feeling that R. Lee Ermey would be an active member and not just a figure head for the NRA. I hope I'm not wrong, because being a celebrity, he's most likely a shoe in.

Linda,

The SAF made some great gains recently in securing our rights but the NRA tried to take credit for something that wasn't purely their effort. Not attending the Gun Rights Policy Conference seems to indicate the NRA didn't have the stones to argue their side. Your comments please.

Yep, I agree with you. SAF started the case, NRA jumped in, got allotted X amount of SAF's minutes from the court system, and attempted to steal the show. It was wrong!!!! Credit is owed where credit is due, and that is with SAF!

I already voted for you, Linda! Anyone in the Buckeye Firearms Ass'n is more than all right in my book. Also voted for the Gunny.

I try to support directors with track records supporting RKBA.

I'm sitting here with my ballot and thought that Jeff Knox might be a decent write in vote. Anyone know his city and state. I think I'll just vote for two people one of them being Linda and the other being Neil's son.

Clutch

Thanks for the reminder Jesse & clutch.
Just put my ballot in the mailbox, and Linda was the only name i could bring myself to pencil in.
When a candidate says "the second ammendment ain't about hunting", they have my FULL attention.

Thanks for the followup. Closing this as "done" unless she wants to post something in it. Linda, if you'd like to have the last word here just PM a mod.

Thanks clutch!
