I will be presenting the NRA Pistol Instructor class in Quincy, IL, on Saturday/Sunday, May 11-12, 2013. This is the full BIT + Pistol session, and once successfully completed, leads to certification as an NRA Pistol Instructor.
A typical schedule has the class doing the full BIT portion and getting started on the Pistol portion on Day #1; on Day #2, we conclude the remaining portion of the Pistol portion, typically finishing in mid-afternoon.
Participants are expected to have at least a basic knowledge of the safe use and handling of pistols, both revolvers and semi-automatics. People that attend come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and we all learn new things from each other.
The weekend is not designed to teach you how to shoot, but rather how to use the philosophy of education and the NRA training materials so that you can teach others the safe handling and use of a pistol.
Because the NRA is eager to add new qualified women as instructors, I will (for this class) be offering a $100 discount to women that attend. This might be that perfect time for "couples" to attend together and become that great guy/gal "training team".
