--and no, I didn't pay the full, retail, list price! My dealer likes me. I've made several contributions to his retirement/alimony fund.

I wish it had been in stainless but, overall, it's a good package. Considering the value of two, rare, government/LE-marked magazines and Hogue's Overmold stock, the price wasn't silly.

I had this Bushnell, mil-dot 'scope laying about, unemployed, so when I have an opportunity to test fire the thing I might be able to hit something at 100 meters.

The barrel is of heavier contour and a bit shorter than my 580-series Ranch Rifle. A small surprise: the trigger and hammer are stainless steel. It will be interesting to discover how this example compares in velocities and accuracy against the two-year-old, stainless rifle.

Very nice rifle! I'm happy with mine so far, but I haven't had enough of a chance to really try it out yet. But it certainly is a sweet pointable little package.

Interesting, the 20 round mags that shipped with my new NRA Mini do not say LE Only anywhere on them, but there is another owner over on PerfectUnion.com that says his are marked that way. We were trying to figure out if my unlabeled mags were any evidence that Ruger was preparing to sell 20 round mags to the public.

Very nice. I love my Mini 14, except for its flimsy barrel and very average accuracy. How do the new guns shoot?

The mags in my box are marked "for government/law enforcement use only" on the bodies. My dealer had another example whose mags only had Ruger's trademark on the floorplates. I suppose that I'm just "lucky" to have 'em marked like they are.

I'm sure that mine won't function any better.

I hope Ruger decides to sell the "twenties". They're ideal for the rifle and provide the best fit and function of any I've tried.

I can't speak for this one yet. (It's raining in SW Ohio right now -- thunderstorms.) I'm too old to chill my butt at the range. 55 degF or better would be nice. . . .

My slightly older, stainless, Ranch Rifle is very satisfactory. It provides about 1.5 MOA with the "pet" load I've made for it. If I'm having a good day, it will do a little better. It's not a sniping rifle but I'm truly happy with its accuracy within 200 yards.
