Any 2015 NRA Show attendees hear or get any updates from the Colt booth about the plans for a Colt plant/office in central Florida?
Did any of the Colt execs or reps say what would happen?
I didn't attend this year's show in Nashville TN.

I did stop by and have a quick conversation with one of the gentlemen manning the Colt Booth.

I didn't think to ask about their plans for Florida, but I did ask about double action revolvers (the two subjects have been mentioned as possibly related from time to time). The rep. said that double actions revolvers are "strongly in their thoughts" and that they "recognize that it is a market that they need to be in". On the subject the last thing he said was a very suggestive "just stay tuned". I know that that is all absolutely politician speech, but I have heard the rumor before that the Florida facility could be used for future double action revolver production. It's also possible that the Florida site could be completely unrelated.

I suppose that we will just have to "stay tuned".

Several months ago, IIRC, there was a local (well, Orlando) newscast that I believed mentioned that Colt was not moving in at this time and the State was ticked off because of incentives given in exchange for jobs, yadda yadda.

With great fanfare, Gov. Rick Scott and Osceola County leaders in December 2011 trumpeted a deal that would bring gun maker Colt Manufacturing Co. to the county and create dozens of relatively high-paying jobs.

About 15 months later, however, the Kissimmee facility that Colt was to use as a regional headquarters and manufacturing center sits empty, and no jobs have been created. The county has decided to begin exploring "Plan B" options in case the Connecticut company never comes to town.

“Governor Rick Scott announced in 2011 that Colt was bringing 60 high-paying jobs to Kissimmee and would occupy a building that cost taxpayers $1 million,” wftv.com reports. “‘I called the company to make sure they were coming,’ Scott said in 2011. But Colt never came to central Florida and the building still sits empty more than two years later, angering taxpayers and job seekers . . . The county is drafting a notice of default letter to Colt. It’s the first step towards evicting the company from the building.”
