I have used hollow points with no problems...
I have not used the ST though, but I have shot a bunch of the older Black Talon. It worked fine. You want to make sure they cycle in your rifle before you stock up on them.
You might also look at the new Hornaday Leverevolution in .44. This looks like a great round for the 1894.
