I was flipping through the Little Nickle Classifieds yesterday, and I saw this add...it just looked like something us High Roaders in the Northwest should know about...

SHOOT A REAL machine gun! Fire live ammo out of an M60, M240, M249 SAW, BAR, MP5, Tommy Gun plus many more weapons available. 4 1/2 hours from Seattle, near Albany, Oregon. Completely legal under state and federal law. May 14th & 15th. For more info call. 425-269-7961*

My 30th birthday is May 17th, so this is tempting. It's almost worth calling the number to find out how much money this guy is charging. :D

I recently got to shoot a full auto rifle it was a HK G36. I had so much fun. I don't know if I would drive all the way down to Oregon from Seattle to shoot. I would call the guy and ask how much he is charging.

They will pay you to shoot fully automatic weapons and crew sereved weapons if you join the Army! :D

Better yet, volunteer for Special Forces to become a 18B (weapons specialist) and you will get to fire most all the military rifles that have been produced. ANd you get paid to do it!! :what:

Looks like the full-auto event that the Albany Rifle and Pistol Club puts on every year. I haven't had the chance to go, but I hear it's lots of fun. :D The range itself is pretty nice, a little over 10 miles from here.

I'm not sure why that phone number is listed, though.

Heard some friends talk about that... not sure I'd ever be able to afford to drive down there and blow through that much brass in an afternoon, though.

I once participated in a similar event down by Grants Pass in Oregon. It was almost seven hours drive each way with the typical traffic. The highlight for me was shooting a WWII Boys anti-tank rifle (14 mm, 0.55 caliber) at $ 20 per round! Probably the longest line was to shoot a M2 .50 cal tripod mount machine gun. Now, if they ever start selling rides in an A-10 where you get to crank off a few rounds from the 37 mm Gatling gun, sign me up!

MillCreek, the event you're referring to is at the Josephine County Sportsmans range. It's hosted by a full-auto club that's in Medford or Jacksonville or somewhere like that. The Full-Auto shoot is put on every Labor Day and Memorial Day,on the date of the actual holiday.Last year, they had an old Chevy(or Dodge or Ford) fullsize van that was on blocks at about 75 yds.Duct taped to the interior walls of the van on the near side were several cans of Tannerite,if you've ever seen that stuff go off you can imagine what happened, very exciting! That range also hosts a "Buckskinner" competition and is a VERY well set up range.Their website is www.jcsa-shootingsports.org

In my part of Colorado, the going rate seems to be $30 for a 30-round magazine.

The last time I shot a MG, it was $30 for the 50-rd MAC-10 mag, $25 for teh 50-rd belt on the Browning .30 Cal, and $20 for the 30-rd MP5 and AR.

ouch

Those prices sound a little rich for my blood...especially when I have to go back home to Washington without one of the guns. I'm not sure I can tease myself that way.
