pics and stories like this are my favorite thing about THR.

thank you for posting it.

The Remington M-30 is one of the few Remingtons I'd consider owning.;)

Nice wolf..

Large wolf

Thanks guys for intrest and nice words about my first post on this site, sure is a good site, love it, nice people and sound advice from friendly members.

H&H I sent you some photos of one of your favourite cartridges. to your email direct.

Krieghund: The wolf was mounted on wall mount with a nice green border almost 8' from nose to end of tail, my uncle sold his cottage and 150 acres of the best deer & birdhunting I have ever seen, It was expected to see my uncles springer to flush 25 to 40 birds in a short hunt. I bought cottage and land back 20 years later, the wolf was still on wall, but some sob's brock-in and cleaned out cottage and my motors etc from garage. if I knew where it was I would not ask questions and buy it, but I guess that will never happen.
Have had some bad times my wife is in late stages of alzhiemers shes only 63
and my health not great, cryed when sold place, sure loved it there, log cottage was on point on Gatineau river could see a mile north and south and not another cottage anywhere.
Thanks again

Real sorry to hear about your families health problems. You still have your memories and I hope plenty of pics. Wish I had taken more pics of events and places in my life.

Mantou,

I am sorry to hear of your health problems. Thank you for sending the pictures that is one very nice looking rifle. It is a shame that you had to sell out your land and cottage. I hope things get better for you soon.

Greg

Great pic and excellent story!! It's always nice to hear about how hunting guns are passed on from generation to generation. Thanks

I saw a wolf in the wild once near our house when I was growing up. I was about 10 at the time ever since then I have always carried some form or protection. I had a kick butt air rifle when I was 10, and moved up to a 22 when I turned 11. I don't think I would want to meet that guy in the woods with my air rifle or 22!

Nice sized wolf. I would not be too worried about a wolf in the wild as I would a bear. Wolves tend to be very standoffish when it comes to people. Anyone here ever hear of a wolf attacking someone in the wild?
