I know this has probably been done a 1000 (10000?) times but there are some new pistol powders out there (even if you can't find them) BE86 and CFE pistol.
So the question.
What do you think your most accurate 9mm and .45 ACP loads are?
Or just your favorite.

Mine
Most accurate and favorite

9mm 3.8 Universal MBC 125 Cone 1.10 OAL
.45 5.0 HP38 MBC 200gr BHN12 SWC
(OAL in notes damaged by coffee stain I have it someplace else but can't find it now that I am looking this morning...sigh getting senile, reloading Database in development :banghead:)
Close 2nd for .45
5gr HP38 RMR 230 Thick plate 1.230 OAL

9mm

be 86, 124gr Winchester RN, 1.12" 5.5gr

Best group Ive ever shot..

Also like the 147gr SPR TMJ with 4.4 gr of 4756 1.135"

My best 45acp load is 4.1gr WST MBC #2 185gr LSWC will give me 1" groups at 25 yrds. The MBC #1 200gr SWC with 4.1 will give me around 2" groups at 50 yrds. I have problem seeing that far so I very seldom shoot at that distance. The #1 shoot 1" groups at 25 yrds too. The best thing about the WST is it burns extremely clean at these low pressure loads. I can shoot 100 rounds, my gun looks cleaner than a gun shooting 1 mag (7rds) of BE.

I'm still trying to find a 9mm load that I like.

I agree about WST in the 45 auto loads. Good clean target powder for me as well. My records indicate I used a bit more in my 200gr LSWC rounds than the 4.1gr you used for my gun to reliable cycle.

5.0 Grs W231 and any 200 Gr SWC @ 1.260 to 1.265 AOL in .45 ACP. Shoots well in everything.

4.6 Grs N310 and a Zero 185 Gr JHP @ 1.220 to 1.225 OAL. My CZ 97 loves this one.

3.9 grs N320 and an X-Treme 124 Gr HP @ 1.060 +/- OAL. My 1911 & XDm shoot this great.

Check load data, start low and work up, use at your own risk.

About 5 gr of Unique and a MBC or Lane 185 gr SWC shoots great out of any 1911 I have tried.....I believe Lane is outta business. I still have about 500. They look like the MBC 185, but have red lube.

Don't feel bad I am right there with you.

I have problem seeing that far so I very seldom shoot at that distance.

I can see the target (fuzzy) but bullet holes are out of the question!
Sigh......

9mm
3.9gn Titegroup behind 115gn Xtreme RN @ 1.135
5.3gn Power Pistol behind 115gn Xtreme RN @ 1.145

45acp
8.9gn AA#5 behind 200gn Xtreme RN @ 1.250 - very accurate
4.5gn Trailboss behind 230gn Xtreme RN @ 1.240 - very soft recoil
4.6gn Titegroup behind 230gn RMR @ 1.200 - soft recoil
4.7gn Red Dot behind 230gn RMR @ 1.200 - soft recoil

I have not used WST enough yet to have a pet load for it, but I started at 4.7gn w/ 200gn plated SWC and was 705fps. My gun (Witness 4.5" steel frame) likes 650fps or faster for reliable cycling. I had good standard deviations at the lower velocities, which is not normally the case with other powders in 45. I want to do more with WST and other bullets, but it does look promising. I've heard a lot of people comment on how well WST works for them.

Hands down, Longshot for me. Yesterday my Son was picking off jack rabbits with his .40 cal. as far out as 100 yds., shooting an XDM. These are 150 gr. Nosler JHP's pushed with full table charges.

With the 9mm it's the same thing, full table charge of Longshot, and either 115 gr. 124 gr. JHP's, usually XTP's. Although, I haven't had terrible results by any stretch with 147's, just a bit slower at 1050 fps..

Gamestalker, Are you the guy that rides every roller coaster at the amusement park, and wants to sit in the front seat! LOL

My best 45acp load is 4.1gr WST MBC #2 185gr LSWC will give me 1" groups at 25 yrds. The MBC #1 200gr SWC with 4.1 will give me around 2" groups at 50 yrds.
Same here for 45acp using the SWC. Yet I get better accuracy with the 200 than the 185. WST makes a great 45acp powder for accurate plinking.

As for 9mm I have switched to Red Dot lately and like the results almost (note almost) as much as Bullseye.

Best 45 Load; 4.0grains Trail Boss, Berry's 230grain PRN, COL at 1.240. One-hole groups at 10 yards and very soft recoil. Avg vel 620.3fps, SD 19.8

New 9mm load; 5.0 gains CFE Pistol behind a Berry's 124 grain PRN, COL 1.160. Average velocity 1052.4fps, SD 20.6

.45 - 6.2g Unique under a 185g Berrys RNHB, Soft shooting, accurate and fun

9mm - 4.2 g BE under 115g Berrys RN, Just plain accurate.

.45 - 4.2 grains Red Dot under SNS coated 200 grain SWC bullets.

9mm - haven't found a load yet that I'm willing to shoot in competition, but for general use I like Silhouette and Herco powders. Looking forward to trying BE-86 with the nine.

Na, not me Potatohead, I'm not an adrenaline junkie, just a recoil junkie. In all honesty, I have very serious issues with heights, one might even say I'm afraid of heights. However, I've gotten myself into some close calls over the years involving heights. Twice in the same day I nearly fell off the Mogollon Rim while bear hunting, 3 very, very close calls in a friends air plane, ya, I fear heights.

I hear ya. Not so fond of them myself. I took a lot of heat from my 13 yo daughter during our Disney trip in December for it too.

It must be nice to be young, I don't know if I could see a jack Rabbit at 100yrds let alone hit one with a pistol.
A moose maybe...
(and it would have to be a large moose):neener:

I have come to love CFE Pistol in 9mm. I load 5.0 gr under a 124 gr lrn from MBC. I seat to 1.155". Soft recoil, but extremely accurate. Pistol is a Ruger SR9. I am still working on a 45acp load. I tried 7.5 under 200 gr lswc from MBC, seated to 1.255", but found it a little on the hot side for my personal preference. It was accurate, but very snappy in my XDS 45. 7.4 gr is minimum recommended, but I'm going to try a little lower and find something I personally like to shoot a lot.

9mm: 124 gr. Berb RN
Silhouette @ 5.4
COAL 1.160"

45 Auto: 185 gr. Berb HBRN
WST @ 5.1 gr.
COAL 1.250"
