For your consideration, a couple of Commanders:

Baer is pretty stock; HC frame, night sights.

Colt is by Jim Hoag (fellow "old guys" will recognize his proprietary beavertail and squared trigger guard). Still shoots as well as the Baer.

Very pretty guns. I had such a bad experience with my CC that I haven't owned a Colt semiauto of any kind since. Absolute lack of quality control, and Colt's service department just scratched it up. A local gunsmith's comment was "It's a disaster". Too bad, it really was nice looking, but I was planning on carrying it, and so I needed something totally reliable. I mostly carried a revolver after I gave up on the CC.

I did have a Python for a while though, and it was great.

Nice... that's one I want. I've got a Govt. model an Officer's model and a Kimber in the Officer's model size. I needs a Combat Commander too.
