I asked the question on another forum and got very little response.

I've picked up a frame and slide (from two separate place)and I am planning a build with them.
Both are auto ordnance slide has the Thompson stamp on it.

every other part will be from a quality manufacture.

so what should I look out for?
Pin holes over sized ?
things not square.

or are they as good as anything else.

I couldn't see spending 400.00 plus on a Springfield mill spec only to pitch most of the parts out and start from scratch.

Its going to be a shooter and maybe part time CCW.
no matches no 100,000 rounds a year .

Auto Ordanance has changed hands several times... so you might get more if you looked up the year it was made...

(They are currently owned by Kahr)

I have an 2004 Auto-Ord frame/slide with over 11.000 rounds and they are still in great shape. Some of the early guns from Auto Ord had quality problem but since Kahr took them over they seem to be pretty good.
