Hello - I've got a line on an older model (mid '90s) SA Champion SS. That's their "Commander" model, but the barrel is 4 inches, not 4.25 inches. It has a barrel bushing and GI guide rod. However, I called SA and they said they don't make parts for it anymore (other than the common parts like trigger, etc.)
The current models are bushingless, dual-spring full-length guide rod, and Novak sites.
I've looked around, and the 4-inch barrel means it could be hard to get aftermarket parts like a full-length guide rod. Plus it makes me a bit concerned that SA doesn't make parts for it anymore.
I know that "normally," I should never need replacement parts anyway. It's not like a car. But you never know, and I have enough paperweights.
How risky of a purchase do you think this would be, and what's a ballpark price you might pay for it, assuming it's in good mechanical and cosmetic shape?
Thanks

There are enough aftermarket companies in the 1911 world that you won't have a problem finding parts should something break.
