Has anyone else had experience and/or problems with this stuff? We tried it today, only made it through 5 rounds as 4 needed several strikes to fire, and one never fired, though it looked like the primer had been hammered in.

I am going to contact miwall and see if I just got a bad batch from them or what... but some other stories would be good to hear too.

oly arms had boat loads of trouble witrh their .223 rounds and quite a few batches of handgun rounds,

i see no need for commerical rounds when you can get like 4000 rounds for 150 bucks..

the enconomics just dont add up. :)

In one box of Olympic 8mm Mauser ammo (20 rounds) I found one round with the bullet seated notably high and two others with the bullet seated notably low. I presume the other 17 rounds were seated correctly. . .:scrutiny:

When shooting, the consistancy was just not there - two horrible groups at 50 yards later, me and a buddy just gave up on the ammo. Surplus Yugo ammo is better and cheaper.

BTW, in a pinch I bought a box of Olympic 7.62x54r to shoot and one round was missing a primer! The other 19 rounds fired normally but since I was shooting steel, no idea of what kind of groups this is capable of.

Personally, I won't buy Olympic again.

Here is a pic of the primer of doom... :what:

Just remembered that I shot Kevlarman's Garand this past New Year's Day. The surplus ammo he used worked fine, but when I shot it, all he had left was Olympic 30-06 and on the third round, the extractor tore off part of the back of the brass case, leaving the rest of the case stuck. I don't know the specs of the Olympic 30-06 or whether or not it is appropriate for the Garand, but with my limited experience with the brand, plus word of mouth both here on THR and talking with other shooters at the range, I have to wonder how this brand of ammo expects to do business with such poor QC.:uhoh:

Now I have more reason to like Miwall Ammo... this is what they responded with...

Of course you can return the ammunition to our tables at the next show, we always stand behind our products. Sorry for your experience I know how frustrating it is. We will be in contact with the manufacturers about this problem so that it may not happen in the future.
Thank You
Miwall Corp.

So in May I will get my money back, and pick up some non-Olympic ammo from Miwall...
