I haven't read anything official for Oklahoma but I would imagine the OHP (Oklahoma Highway Patrol) is probably cutting down the miles as well. Oklahoma isn't the wealthiest state to begin with. Not only that - our population per square mile is pretty small compared to other states....

Talking about safety, the local donut shop is probably the safest place nowadays.

I saw a report on the TV news a couple weeks ago, which mentioned the growing number of police departments around the country that are starting to use golf carts as patrol vehicles in certain neighborhoods.

This would definitely slow down response time, and it would be virtually impossible for a responding officer to pursue a suspect making a getaway via automobile.

It's past time for the U.S. Congress to open up our Alaskan oil reserves.
