Ones you wish you had back

Do not know if I want it back, but I keep wondering about that Springfield SAR-4800 I never shot before I sold it...

Should have shot it.

Ruger MKII Government that i sold when i was broke. don't miss the glock that i sold though....

About45 years ago, I met a person who had a Luger for sale.
I gave his asking price($ 20.00) and hung on to the Luger for quite some time.
It was a commercial .30 cal of Swiss designation.
However, the trading thing prevailed and I dumped it one night.
I took home a Ruger #1 in .270, 100 rounds of virgin brass, a gun carring case and a case of shotgun shells.
The Ruger is a 200TH year of our liberty thing and I have killed about 30 deer with it.
I think about the Swiss Luger from time to time but it's too late and the #1 has served me well.
Respectfully, Zeke

I sold a H&R M1 to have money to buy a M1A. I love the M1A and have more Garands, but still miss it. They are each unique and I feel as though I have sold a child. I will never forgive myself.:(

All of my "firsts"

First .22, a Winchester single shot bolt action
First shotgun, Mossberg 500, 20 gauge
First Centerfire, Winchester 770 in .270 (although never accurate worth a:cuss: )

All aquired before I turned 16

But as I got more "sophisticated" I eventually traded them all off for something "better"...But I wish I'd kept them for nostalgia value (none worth much otherwise)....to pass on to my kids...

doooH!

Remington 600 in .22-250, very accurate. I hate to admit this but I thought I a .223 would be an adequate replacement. :(

Remington 700 Mountain rifle in .280 Rem. topped with a Redfield Illuminator. Bought in mid 80's when the Mountain rifles were only chambered in 1 caliber each year. Back then Redfield made one hell of a scope too. Let it go when cash was sorely needed.

It was an almost perfect "do everything" rifle. Whether in brush or down powerline clearcuts, it could do it all and be light enough to not wear you down.

The only one I kinda sorta miss is an ORM Colt Commander. Rattled like crazy but shot 2" groups at 25 yards.

Taurus 454 casull, 700 BDL custom delux 300 RUM, 700 BDL custom delux 7mm mag, 700 BDL custom delux 270, ... oh yea, and all the scopes too.

Dont you hate it when you use the excuse "It's like a savings acount baby...they'll always hold their value, thats why its ok to buy this gun!" to your wife and the minute you hit a rough spot in life thats the first thing she looks at. Damn I thought I was so smart...heck I tricked a woman into backing me up on my gun collection. Well she thought it was a savings account allright. Anyone here a closet gun collector? hehe

1949 Model 70 in '06. It wouldn't hold the tightest groups, but it was a beautiful rifle.

not a rifle, but a longgun (shottie)...S&W model 3000 "riot gun", 12 ga, folding stock, pistol grip, iron sights, rifled barrel. Let it go for a song - doh.

Scout, what cal model 99?

The gun I would like to have back:
Commercial Colt 1911 in .45 ACP, accurized by Al Dinan (one of the best pistolsmiths from a previous generation), and to which I added a BoMar Low Profile rib. Used it for shooting NRA Bullseye 2700 point matches in Corpus Christi during late 60's-early 70's. Foolishly sold it when job, relocation, and family responsibilities made it inconvenient to continue shooting competition. REALLLY wish I had that exact pistol back!!!

Good shooting and be safe.
