Opinions on XCR?

I'm trying to narrow down my next rifle purchase. I was set on a DSA SA58 .308, but now I'm intrigued by the Robinson XCR. Does anyone have one of these rifles or have any knowledge of them, especially regarding quality? I understand from their website that they have "extruded aluminum" uppers. Will this be a problem? Any info would be appreciated.

I have one and think its great. I really like the fact that its a multi-caliber platform that's piston driven and has an adjustable gas system. Mine is surprisingly accurate, I have the xcr-l in 5.56x45. If you have any questions feel free to send a message.

The FN SCAR uses an extruded upper. Not a problem.

I would like a SCAR as well, but at the rate the prices are going, I will have another XCR first.

It also has the best features of the FAL in it: Bolt catch, charging handle, similar operation of the gas system.

My go-to rifle for anything and everything is my STG58. I love that thing.

Holy moly! Just found a couple XCR's in a local gun store -- one 5.56 and one 6.8 -- but they want $2395 for one!

Is it just me, or are the gun shows really taking advantage of the Obama gun-control scare to gouge us? Whatever the market will bear, I reckon.

Looks like I'll have to go for the DSA after all, even if I have to wait several months to get one.

Holy crapola, I thought it was bad when I paid $1,800 plus with tax for the XCR bout 5 months back - I must just slipped in barely under the radar before the frenzy was in full force.

I got mine used for 1300, you couldnt tell it was used though. the prior owner was nice enough to slap yhm buis on it for me.

I got mine in January for about $1600 all in. I had no idea that they were going for this much. Order direct from Robinson, and get it shipped to a local FFL, Robinson have "normal" prices you'll just need to find one to shoot first to find out whether you like it.
