I've been thinking about buying parts in order to build my own AR lately. But never put too much effort in actually researching which parts I would like to buy for different configurations and such until today. As I was at my local pawn shop they had a Bushmaster lower reciever. Complete I'm sure of, but not too sure whether it was a six postion adjustable or the fixed tele stock. Any how it was very clean and in my opinion, probably never used. They were asking 250.00 for the part.

Is this worth purchasing and starting with the lower reciever and build from there? I appreciate any input. I think it would just be nice to have something I built myself and learn something too. Thanks

you should go to calguns.net plenty of info on building ar15's, since its the only way we can get them. you'll get recommendations, advice, and links to help you build your rifle. you can also go to ar15.com, but i think calguns.net is easier to search in and find info.

Thanks for the info it really helps. I live in Florida so it's pretty much a free- for-all as far as legalities of owning a gun. I just wasn't sure if that was a fair price but it seems to be worth it I supppose. I think I'll go pick it up and start from there. Thanks again

I build my AR-15's, I wouldn't want it any other way. Building has MANY advantages. Sure, you can save money, but that's not my motivation for building.

I want my AR-15 to be built exactly to my specifications down to the last detail.
