CDNN does NOT sell firearms through their web site, so yes, you have to call them (its okay, they are friendly folk
).
I just ordered a Steyr S40 from them.
I called them, told them what I wanted, he asked me where it was going to ship, I gave him the
name, address and phone number of the FFL I was going to use and he said "hang on a minute" ... when he came back he said "we already have him on file" (so I didn't have to send him a copy of the FFL ... if the FFL you are using isn't already on file with them, you will need to go down to your local guy's shop, get a signed copy of his FFL
signed in blue ink and mail it to CDNN before they will ship). Then the guy at CDNN took my credit card information ... put me on their mailing list (so I get the printed catalog instead of downloading the PDF all the time) and that was that.
A few days later I called my FFL and my pistol was there! So I went over there, filled out a BATFe form 4477 and Earl (my FFL) sat on hold for almost an hour waiting to perform my "instant" background check ... It came back okay so I slapped a $20 on the desk, picked up my pistol, shook hands with Earl and I was on my way!
