P-Pistol, how low did you go w/9M,.40 & .45?

Just curious, just trying to stretch a dollar...got a free jug of Power Pistol

In a M&P 9, 4.7g for lead 125's worked fine, in a M&P .40 6.0 for lead 180 TC's worked well.

Both pistols cycled, no FTF or FTE, no stucks.

Haven't tried .45ACP , going to tonight, for a Colt Gold Cup SER70.

BUT: Going to load Ore Trail 200gr SWC & 230RN + Raniers 230RN

Lyman P&R guide suggests for 200gr LSWC 6.6.-7.4, for 230gr TMJ 6.4-7.2

Alliant site says to use 8.7 for 200gr Speer LSWC.

9.5 for Speer 230gr GDHP, so that would mean for my Raniers 230 TMJ -10% of Alliants recipe and use 8.55???

Quite a difference from Lyman to Alliant, wouldn't you say?
Just like to see what others using P-Pistol have used for the .45...in these bullets.

You got me totally befuddled talking about 200 grain lead and TMJ load data in the same paragraph with your 230 grain plated bullets??

TMJ & Plated are not the same thing at all, even though they both use electroplating to apply the jacket.
TMJ are considered to be jacketed bullets.
Plated are considered -- ehhhh --- - plated.

First, I don't consider Power Pistol a good reduced load powder.

Second, Rainer says to use lead bullet data with their bullets.

According to Lyman #49, that would be a 6.3 Starting load - 7.0 MAX load with a 225-230 grain lead bullet.

Sorry, I meant I have to load up: Ore Trail LSWC-200gr, Ore Trail 230RN and Raniers 230RN, my mistake, I thought they were termed TMJ.

I here you on the above, and planned to load most at the higher end-per recommendations I've read here and elsewhere. Just was curious where the bottom was, didn't think sacrificing performance for a few pennies would be worth it, thou CFO could cut off funding at any time

That's why I mentioned using -10% on the Speer 230gr GDHP alliant recipe.

I load for a 9mmPara and Makarov, while PP will do for cast slugs IMO it's best for +P in both those. I haven't loaded cast over it. I use Bullseye for my cast slug 'practice' rounds, it's really cheap to load. it and Red Dot do best for cast slugs of any I've tried. Red Dot is even cheaper to load cast over. but's nowhere near the best for jacketed.

Power pistol

I load 7.3 g power pistol with 200 gn lswc and this is a pretty stout load.

I use Power pistol with a speer 225 gr hollow point in .45 and I use a charge of 7.1 gr. This, according to my lyman manual, is just below max. Works very well.

Some nice reduced loads HERE for .40 caliber including, some for Power Pistol. If the others listed are as nice as the ones shown using TG, should be fine.
