I have a Keltec P32 that I use as my EDC. There are days and certain pants where I find the Keltec prints a little more than I am comfortable in for work. I am thinking of getting one of the NAA pistols for those time when I need to leave the Keltec behind. I really like the Black Widow due to its increase size and barrel length along with the reviews of shootability. I am wodering if this will be somewhat counter productive since I am trying to reduce size and maybe I should look at the standard magnum with the 1 5/8. I will use this as a BUG BUG more than I will carry it just by itself. I would like to be able to use this when fishing and playing in the woods to dispatch cans, snakes (only when there is no other option, please I know they are to not be killed ?) etc. I would also like to be able to plink and enjoy shooting it. From research I have found that the BW is somewhat easier to shoot I just wonder about its additional size for pocket carry. The problem I find is I cant find a BW in stock in my area I have a friend who has located one with the conversion cylinders and he will order it for me but this doesnt help me figure how it will fit. Anyone who has shot owned or carried either or all of these please chime in. I know the limitations of all the guns mentioned. I also know that I have shot the Keltec it has proven to be accurate and reliable. I am sure that either of the NAA's will prove the same with practice.

Just buy ammo

If you already have the P32, and it shoots well, then skip the BW. The BW won't print less than the P32. And if you want to plink every now and then, use the BW money and buy more ammo. Just my opinion. However, I'm thinking you really want to buy a BW!:)

So, buy it and enjoy yourself. Get one with the interchangeable .22lr cylinder, and plinking will be cheap. But I'd still carry the P32 for self-defense.

Yes I guess you could say I am wanting a Black Widow. I have had a facination with the NAA line for quite sometime. I am thinking that with the increase of ammo cost that one of these would be cost effective plinking. In away I guess I could spend the money on ammo. Sorta like buying a $20000 car to save $10 on gas. I just thought a mini or a black widow would be something to become proficient with and be able to carry when I feel the P32 is a little large( sounds weird but there are times). Also feel like it may be a viable back up to the P32 and the bonus ability to use rat shot. Yeah I guess I just want one, figure the black widow to be the most accurate and guess I am considering the standard magnum because of its size black widow due to shootability.

Having gone the other way (NAA Mini to P32), I would recommend sticking with the Kel-Tec if at all possible. Are you using a holster with your P32?

I would like to be able to use this when fishing and playing in the woods to dispatch cans, snakes
I can only speak for myself, but the mini revolvers would have a very hard time hitting/killing a snake unless you were close enough for it to bite. They're really for up-close point shooting (the black widow sights might work a bit better, I only had the regular 1 5/8").

I agree with the others, the KT P32 will be just as easy to conceal as the BW.

I do find myself carrying a NAA Mini Mag w/1-5/8" barrel though, quite a bit in jeans especially.

If you can't conceal a P32 then you need to bite the bullet and go up a pants size. Also, get yourself a holster that limits the "printiness" of the pistol.

For the love of God PLEASE do not get yourself an NAA mini-revolver for self-defense. These are cutesy novelty guns that serve no real purpose.

First of all, these are single action where you have to cock the hammer bacj before you can pull the trigger. When the stress is hitting and adrenaline is pumping, you don't want your thumb to slip on the hammer.

Second of all, it's a rimfire .22. Rimfires are not reliable as defensive weapons due to misfires. Then, it's a .22. Why trade down in size and reliability from the P32.

Third, it's being shot out of a barrel that's less than two inches long. Not a lot of velocity, or spin imparted on that round.

The P-32 is a much better gun on all accounts. First you have a centerfire cartridge, which has historically been proven to be a better round for ignition.
Second, the gun is flat and thin. Seriously, they don't get much smaller or easier to conceal than this. Third, you can carry 8 rounds of .32 ACP vice what, 6 of .22LR. Fourth, there's no hammer to cock back, just pull the trigger. Fifth, it's probably cheaper.

Well about the time of the last post I was in my local pawn shop holding a 22 mag NAA. After handleing one I am convinced that I do not want one. Yes they are small and yes they have a niche just not with me. It is not that much smaller and handling it though I am sure I would get accustomed to it just seems awkward. I guess I will continue to carry the P32 invest in a better holster. Since I just have an itch to buy something maybe I will go back to my previous delima 642 or Glock 26 I think I just like the excitement of the hunt. Maybe I will just stop the search and realize I think I have the best small gun for EDC and look for something heavier. I think the P32 is about as much oomph as I can honestly shoot understress weakhanded and maybe wounded. Think the other two may have too much kick at least I am honest about recoil shyness.

I agree with those who say that if you can't deep conceal a P32 then you are wearing your pants too tight (that also has other fallout if you want to become a daddy, but that is another topic for another forum!).

I used to carry a P32 before CCW was legal in this state (cough, cough), and would still carry one if that was the case. They don't get much easier to conceal then that little pistol.

Man those NAA .22 mini revos look so cute I want one bad but after reading tinygnat219's post - what he said sure seems irrefutable - I still want one but I'll have to resist the urge to carry it - and I'll also rule it out as a purse gun for the wife. I agree it would probably be impossible to do a follow up shot with one of those.

My father-in-law carries one when he can't carry his J-frame. After shooting it, I ended up buying one for my wife. ;)

I would say the P32 is more like to jam being an auto-loader than a SA revolver but that's just me. ;) And after a few hundred rounds, I have yet to have any .22 mag cartridges fail to fire. YMMV.

Well the jeans being tight while not the issue rest assured and thank you for my reproductive concern are not that tight. I think I would benefit from a better pocket holster. I do not think that the NAA is a bad gun without a use. I have read countless stories where one of these have saved the day the reason the person had them when they needed them and that covers the first rule of a gun fight. I have found that I have had my P32 everyday for almost 3 yrs and it comes off with my pants at night and on in the morning always there. As for the reliability of these. I have carried IWB with the clip for the first 2Yrs it has been covered in sweat, rain, and through a tornado without a problem it was there. Though I clean it often I have never had a instance where this pistol has not done what I have call on it to do (once with american ammunition it would not eject). I can shoot it strong hand, weak hand, two handed proficiently and quite accurately. It has fired countless boxes of ammo and if it quit today I would not hesitate to be standing at the door of my nearest store when they opened the door fpr another. Mine is a first gen I have never done anything to it other than clean it, carry it, shoot it. Its one of the best $250.00 I have spent. I have had people who critsize the gun the cartridge etc. who will only shoot a 1911 and thats great but its at home on the night stand, while my P32 is sitting waiting. Sorry for the long winded reply I guess as I was typing this I realized I have the best pocket pistol for me. Your actual mileage may very.

>22 mag short barrel

I have a NAA mini in .22mag, I carry it in a pocket holster from NAA made specifically for the gun and it doesn't print at all. This BUG is in my right front pocket everyday and don't even know its there half the time.

Try some shot shells out of the .22 mag you'll love them, I think this would be perfect for taming any hazardous small critters encountered.
