My AC41 P38 has suffered a broken firing pin.
Numrich arms has a reproduction old style firing pin, square, advertised as well as a “new style” round firing pin.
Mine has the square old style.
Any forum member have experience with this. I can remove the old, can I assume I can replace it my self.

Ain’t it though, me and it are the same age by 2 months.

The video is where I learned how to remove it in the 1st place.
My concern is ordering the part then finding it needs gunsmith skills to replace. Local gun smiths don’t like one bringing in their own parts, or at least this local one doesn’t

Thanks responders and thanks to You Tube. The firing pin replacement was easy. Fifty rounds fired at the range yesterday no problems. Shoots to point of aim at 12 yards and holds, for me a respectable group.
Looking at average prices on GunBroker indicates the gun has appreciated in value from the $200 I paid for it in the late 80"s. All matching numbers, correct marks for an AC41 and no re-import stamp. Begs the question of shooting it on a regular basis. Fun though and an attention getter at the public range.

I ordered a replacement set from Wolff. All the coil springs in the gun except the firing pin spring, at a reasonable price. Save the originals for their originality to the gun.
