Ok guys...Most that have bothered to read any of my post (mostly on TFL) you know that I am a Walther lover...especially the P99 in any caliber...I have noticed on the Walther forum and on TFL that some guys make some improvements to their weapons...which is something that I have done to several pistol in the past...but I have not really found anything that I felt needed to changed on the P99...I have heard complaints about the DA trigger but found that after about 500 rounds it smoothes out nicely and the SA trigger is unbelievable(I recently let a friend shoot mine and he traded his H&K the next day for a P99)
Okay enough rambling.

1. What changes would like to see made to the 99(except for a .45auto and compact from Walther, we all want this).

2. What changes have you done to your P99?

3. Does anybody else thing that the 99 is great as is.

Answer any or all

I added a P22 to accompany it!!! hehehe.........

seriously, I have a German / european version and it has the euro style sights and i prefer them over the 3 dot american ones.
also another difference is the medium backstrap allows for a lanyard where the american one does not. the problem, and i have gone thru 2 backstraps, it seems the strap is a tad too small for the frame and there is this ever so small gap bettween where the frame and strap meet. it makes it a bit uncomfortable with recoil. but this is a ever so minor complaint. took me weeks to notice it.

I have added only night sights to mine. It's one of the few pistols out there that doesn't need any trigger work. Almost everyone who tries my P99s ask who did the trigger job. The trigger, especially the SA trigger, is that good. The trigger reset is also unbelievably short and crisp with little or not slack.

You know...I took one look at the walther and said..naah..i'll save my 20 bucks and buy a SW99..I figured I could use it for practice ammo...

Well...I made the jackass mistake of the century...I bought that sw99..shot a thousand rounds through it..well probably only 400 or so..cause the rest of 'em jammed..and sold it for a glock...I think if I would have bought the P99..I'd still be a P99 Fan..but I only have bad experiences..

any others like me?

Except for the addition of night sights to three of my four P99s, I think they are good "as is" right out of the box for their intended purpose. ;)

i really like mine, everyone who i have let shoot it has been really impressed.
i wish i could add a light without having to add the laser first.
that;s the only thing i'd change
