I've got an SW99 compact in .40 that I'm looking for leather for, anyone know if this gun will fit in either a SW99 full size or P99 full size holster?

I'm thinking because of the shape of the front of the slide, it probably won't fit as well in a P99 compact holster. However I expect it should fit just fine in a holster for an SW99 full size (since the only real difference is the grip and slide length).

Its the P99 Full size I'm most interested in because there are a lot of holster makers out there that list the P99 but not the SW99.

I'm really only interested in molded leather.

I don't know about leather, but it won't work for Kydex. I have a full size Walther P99 9mm and a S&W SW99 compact in 9mm. I purchased the P99 first and bought a nice Comp-Tac Pro Undercover Kydex IWB holster for it (perfect fit). Later down the road I bought the SW99 compact and I tried to see if it would fit into my Comp-Tac holster for my P99 and it would not (not even close). I can't remember exactly how it didn't fit correctly (I think the trigger guard area of the frame are a lot different between the P99 and SW99 series), but it was not usable for proper carry in that holster. What I ended up doing was, I happened to had an extra Kydex holster for a G30 and so I tried the SW99 compact in it and it fit okay (enough that the holster retained the pistol fairly good and properly covered the trigger area). Instead of finding an actual holster made for a SW99 or SW99 compact, I just ended up using my spare G30 holster I had. I would assume that a leather holster for a P99 won't work either for a SW99 or SW99 compact, if my Kydex P99 holster won't work (though leather is a bit more forgiving than Kydex is). I think your best bet is to find a leather holster maker that can make a holster specifically for a SW99 compact or second best, a SW99 full size. Good luck on finding a good holster for it.

I just bought a holster for my SW99 in .40. I took my gun to the store an tried a number of different models with the notion that GLock 26/27 holsters may work. I found that it was a nice fit, but anything with a retention strap would not work. The only holster without retention strap (for glock 26/27) was a Bianchi CarryLok. It was a little stiff and wasn't exactly perfect, but it held the weapon securely and locked in place. With a hard tug it would come out without depressing the lever, but it was acceptable to me. I bought the Model 82. After a few days of drawing and wearing, it has loosened up a little bit and is as good as I would expect for a holster designed specifically for the SW99. I would have to guess then that any open ended, non retention STRAP type holster for Glock 26/27 should work for the SW99. The packaging listed Beretta 9000s, Glock 26/27, and Taurus PT-111 as the models that it will fit.
