I'd like to hear thoughts about Pachmayr grips (either the compact or gripper) for the .44 Charter Arms Bulldog. How much of an improvement are these grips over the oem rubber grips from CA?

Thanks.

I have the compacts. Like them, but opted to go with the much smaller, skinny, wood grips which conceal better for me.

Pachmayr makes several different revolver grips made from a rubber type material. They should make one for the Bulldog.

Duster, did you notice any significant reduction in felt recoil with the pachmayr with the other grips (the original manufactured rubber ones)?

I used to have a bulldog with several grips for it. I found the Pachmayrs a better fit than the factory wraparound rubber grips. Concealablity the wood splinters were the nicest, but the most painful to shoot. the Barami Hip grips made carrying a bit easier, but were too slick in the hand. The wood wraparounds were nice, but still a bit lacking when shooting.
If I had another Bulldog, I would put a set of Pachmayrs on it and not look back.

Hey Thomas,

The factory rubber grips do a nice job dampening the recoil, as do the pachmayr. The originals fill the hand nicely and are very comfortable. The Pachmayr also feel nice while being a bit more concealable. If the Bulldog wasn't my daily carry (usually with just a tee shirt), it would most likely wear the Pachmayrs. They're a nice product.

Be well
