I picked up a business card the other morning when getting some coffee at the store. The card is for a guy "Predator Man" offering to kill predators for $25 / kill. Judging by the crossed rifles on one side and the crossed pistols on the other, it looks like he's shooting them, not trapping. I thought it was interesting, so I grabbed one of the cards. I'd have to ask around about him before having him come to my place, but I may just let him have a crack at the yotes later this winter (the ones I've educated :banghead: ).

I thought I'd mention this to y'all. If someone were to show up and ask about hunting, I'd most likely turn them down, but I may have this guy come out and try to shoot a few. Reverse phycology got me, I guess...

Anyway, it's a fairly good looking business card and a decent idea, IMHO. May be worth the $30 or so to get some cards made up for some of you that are really good yote killers.

The guy's out of Ranburne, AL; anyone in the area that wants his contact info, shoot me a pm, but just keep in mind that I don't know him, so not a recommendation.

To me it's like, all these farmers griping about what the hogs are doing to their crops. When you ask would you like me come and shoot them, they say sure. It will cost you $200 a day. DISCLAIMER....I am not talking about the ranches that guiding hunts on their place is their living.

Several years ago, I was loading chow up from a shopping cart at the local store when a woman next to me saw my NRA decal.

She asked if I was a hunter and I told her, yes when I could. She told me she and her husband had a bunch of deer on their place, that they had to account for them because they had too many. They wanted several shot. I told her that a friend and I would come out and drop 1 or 2 if that was alright and she said sure.

Gave me directions etc. and we set up a time and it was a go.

Her husband then walked up and said hold on, that it would be $900 per animal. She told him that they would have to pay a fine on any animal over a set number and he still refused.

I gracefully backed out of the deal and later that month I ran into her again and she told me that because of her husband they had to pay several thousand dollars fine. She apologized again and that was that.

I wanna say they were Axis but that was 10 or 12 years ago and now I have CRS syndrome. So who knows

mtncreek, very interesting. I've been thinking about taking out ads in some papers from GA to MS to TX to offer hog/yote control. I wasn't planning to charge anything, but now that you mention it, I'd probably get more interest if i charged than if i offered it for free.

Sorry, but I'm having a hard time understanding this. Was some of the story missing or a few key words left out? Mind rephrasing?
Unless anyone else can tell me what he was saying. Was this a deer farm being fined? Depredation permit limit?

Edit: forgot to add the quote, this was in response to calaverasslim.

^^^^

I was wondering this myself. The way it reads, to me, is that the people calaverasslim talked to were fined for having too many deer on their property.

I could use some clarification on this, too!

Apparently it was a game management place. I didn't pay much attention to the why's and wherefores but more to the do you want to shoot some deer. My bad. I was ready to fill the freezer for free.... :D

Not sure, but in my case I'm looking at it like I'm getting a service. I've let some people hunt at my place and it can be a bit of a pain. A friend called me yesterday telling me he'd probably come deer hunt one day this week. He's not sure what day. I'll have to either get a key or opener for him to have access and knowing my luck, he'll show up one afternoon when I'm wanting to shoot. That's what friends are for, right...

If I were paying someone, I'd expect the service to be scheduled and I wouldn't expect them to call me up telling me 'hey buddy, I'll be hunting at your house one day this week, maybe, but maybe not and make sure I can get in and BTW, do you have any 30-06 ammo....'

I just took out ads in two papers :) be curious to see what kind of response I get.
