I want to paint the sights on my Mosin with the front sight a green of some sort and the rear sights either red or orange. I want them to be something fluorescent and I've heard Nail polish works well but I need specifics on what to use weather its paint or nail polish.

On metal, I'd prime with a good car primer, and the go with testor's enamel (the little square glass bottles model builders use). I'd also consider making one of the sights white; it'll contrast better with red or green than they do with each other.

I bought this kit with various very bright "glow" colors to enhance sites. I'll try to get the name and mfg to you. It comes complete with paints, cleaning solvent, brush, and painting stick. it was all for under $20.00.

I have a bottle of red automotive touch up paint that works really well. It seems to hold up fine to Hoppe's and CLP.

I just wipe the sight off with a paper towel dipped in rubbing alcohol then paint the sight with the little brush in the bottle.
