PARA AND KIMBER 45 AUTOS

I was at a gun show this past weekend. I am looking for a small gun to carry. I have narrowed it down to a couple of fairly small 45's.
I was looking at the Kimber COP compact, the PARA Warthog, and the Para Carry plus 10.
The problem is that I cannot really find a good price on any of these. The used Warthogs are still 700.00 and the Carry Plus is still 600 to 700 used. The Kimber is still 850 used. I really like the Kimber, but find it hard to pay that much for a gun that is going to be somewhat abused with daily carry.
I was also looking at the Taurus 24/7, but I know it is a lesser quality gun, but it is very small, and fairly reasonable at about half the price of the others.
And then there is the Smith and Wesson Chiefs special going for about 450 to 500 used.
This will be a carry gun, and will be used daily, so it will be subject to holster wear and such. I am leaning towards a stainless finish on any of these.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Having owned 3 Kimbers and one Taurus 24/7, I'd debate the issue of Taurus being a lesser quality gun. Depends on how you define "quality".

At a lower price, I've found the 24/7 to be a comfortable grip, 12+1 45ACP weapon that fits very well into my Galco holster made for the Glock 21. The Taurus is lighter weight. Plus the Tuarus stainles slide has yet to rust on me. Cannot say that about the blued Kimber TLE I owned.

The trigger pull - well Kimber (and finely tuned 1911's in general) set the standard. No doubt. But they are not double action.

For the price of one Kimber, you can get a combat commander sized Taurus 24/7 45 acp and still have money left over to buy a very concealable PT-145 MilPro that will fire the same mags. (As reported on the Taurus Forum).

I recently acquired a Para-Ordnance 645 "Carry" model. So, far I've only shot it with FMJ and I don't consider it broken in yet. It has functioned perfectly and I'm pleased with its accuracy and how it feels in the hand.

I've heard that that they are prone to jam if they are not well maintained. Of course, I can't imagine not taking good care of an expensive carry gun.

I'm not sure if the gun will be a keeper for me. In doing double tap drills, etc I find I have a tendency not to set the trigger on the follow up shots. Disconcerting! This may be something I'll simply get used to. Otherwise, the Para's LDA is quite a nice trigger.

I can't say about Kimber but, I have a Para C7.45 that I really like. I ccw this often. I got it used and abused--the previous owner didn't ever clean it and it had a few scars too. The thing is like a Timex, it takes a licking and keeps ticking. The only problem was the recoil rod and spring, the original kept unscrewing some after about 3 mags fired, I called Para wanting to buy a replacement and they sent me a new version for free. Can't beat that for service. Also, I REALLY like the LDA trigger system.
