looking for a 9 mm for the wife, favor 1911 type pistols, anybody have any experience with this pistol (para tac-five)???

i am also interested in this topic, i would like to hear any experience as well, from owners or any one with experience with em.

I just purchased a Para Tac-Five. Didn't even know it was featured in a couple of gun mags. I went to FrontSight Firearms school in Nevada this past weekend. I ran 1200 rounds through the gun in 4 days. Two of the days was an intense Advanced tactics class with lots of malfunction clearances, odd shooting angles, room clearings, scenarios, etc. The first day I came the gun had 500rounds thru it without cleaning. We shot about 250 rounds the first day. Gun worked great. Ran the rest of the class without cleaning or reappling oil. It was very windy and dusty with the temp ranging between 95-107. I recently started shooting steel and thought this would be a great gun for that.

Pros:
1. Finish: Non reflective black.
2. Adjustable rear sight.
3. Flared mag well. Eased loading of the
4. Easy to operate controls.
5. High capacity magazines.
6. No firearms induced malfunctions.
7. LDA very easy to adapt to. By the end of the second day didn't even notice.
8. Magazines easy to dissasemble and clean without tools on the range.(lots of dust, gravel and debris floating around the range)

Cons:
1. Flared mag well covered up magazine so it made clearing type three malfunctions difficult. Could not easily grasp the bottom of the magazine while it was seated.
2. No ambidextrous safety control.
3. Magazines hard to load to full capacity by hand. (could be that they are still fairly new. Only could load 17+1 in the gun.)

Wishes:
1. Magazine extender to facilitate easier stripping of mags.
2. AMBI safety.
3. Match grade barrel

Overall:
She's a keeper! I really enjoy the LDA action. I will probably contact Para to see about getting a AMBI safety and will replace the front sight with a Night Sight.
